Jiaqi Cheng

Jiaqi Cheng, an esteemed Australian pianist and educator, is renowned for his exceptional virtuosity and versatile performance style, enchanting audiences globally. As a distinguished performer, Jiaqi has garnered accolades in numerous national and international competitions and scholarships, balancing a prolific career that encompasses teaching, solo recitals, chamber music, and collaborative projects.

His international presence is marked by performances in prestigious venues across China, Australia, and the United States, including the iconic Sydney Opera House, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Town Hall, and the Riverside Church.

Jiaqi holds a Bachelor and Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, complemented by advanced qualifications from the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB), namely the Licentiate of Music, Australia (LMusA) and Associate of Music, Australia (AMusA).

His musical development was shaped under the guidance of renowned pedagogues such as Clemens Leske, William Wolfram, and the late Phillip Kawin. Jiaqi has also had the privilege of collaborating with illustrious artists like Marc Silverman, Alexander Korsantia, Ignat Solzhenitsyn, Matti Raekallio, Heasook Rhee, and Phillip Shovk, to name a few.

Currently residing in Sydney, Jiaqi Cheng is a professional concert pianist dedicated to advancing his musical studies. He is deeply committed to music education, community engagement, and pedagogical research. In a recent highlight, he led a series of sold-out performances across Australia, featuring a Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto Marathon in honor of the composer's 150th anniversary.
